Girls of Country Tour heats up the Hunter

2015 CMAA Golden Guitar ‘Female Artist of the Year’ and 2015 CMC ‘Female Oz Artist of the Year’, Amber Lawrence, leads the way with The Girls Of Country Tour, headed to Belmont 16s on Friday 8 May and Hexham Bowling Club on Friday 29 May.

Fronted by Amber, and featuring Aleyce Simmonds and Christie Lamb, The Girls Of Country Tour takes a leaf out of the former sellout show ‘Songbirds’ (Beccy Cole, Gina Jeffreys & Sara Storer) to feature the new breed of award winning female country artists.

In a 2 hour show, audiences can not only expect to hear the hits from three of the hottest young female country artists today, but they will also be treated to some very special ‘trio’ performances. To give the show a unique ‘twist’, each Artist will perform their own version of each other’s hit songs, so get ready to hear the songs you love in a whole new way!

Whilst there’s some similarity between the three artists – all being country singers, there’s certainly a huge disparity with their styles. Amber kicks it up with up-tempo, fun and sassy tunes interspersed with personal stories and heartfelt poignant ballads. Christie Lamb rocks it out, and Aleyce brings in the balance with more mid-tempo reflective style and tunes backed up with her exceptional vocals.

About the Artists

Amber Lawrence is known as one of the hardest working artists in the industry, a fact that was validated by her recent dual wins at the Golden Guitars and CMC Awards, let alone a second year running nomination for the 17th Australian Club Entertainment Awards (ACE Awards).  She has released one EP and four albums with the current album being the Top 5 ARIA Country Chart Album “Superheroes”. She has over 12 Awards to her name, 1000 shows across the country and over 500 school mentoring performances.  The current single “I Will Love You” was one of the most added tracks to country radio on the week of release.

The ‘2014 Australian Independent Female Artist of the Year’, Aleyce Simmonds kicked off her career as the 2004 Telstra Road to Tamworth winner and has continued to climb and shine ever since.  A five time Golden Guitar nominee, she rose to prominence in 2005 after winning the Telstra Road to Tamworth competition and since then has delivered no.1 singles, hit videos and toured extensively with artists including Amber Lawrence.  “Believe” her current album is a musical culmination of experiences, an authentic and emotive summing up of the story so far.

Christie Lamb has undeniably made an impression since the release of her debut album and lead single ‘All She Wrote” (#2 debut on the ARIA Australian Artist Country Album Chart, #1 Music Network Country Airplay Chart, #1 on Cool Country Radio Chart and “#1 on Country Music Radio – CMR)), resulting in a finalist nomination in the 2015 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards for ‘Best New Talent”.
