Newcastle’s first dedicated gin festival is happening this September

Newcastle’s Museum Park will play host to the city’s first dedicated gin festival this September.

The event, hosted by Styx Brewery and Distillery, will feature twelve local distilleries, food producers with menus designed to complement the gins on show and some live music to wash it all down with.

Ticket holders will get the chance to try the best locally made gins and chat to the people behind distilleries from all around the region.

“We have designed the event with an English Garden Party theme and are inviting attendees to come along, dress up in style, connect and learn more about gin and the broader gin experience,” head distiller and owner of Styx, Analee Isbiste said.

“I wanted to bring like-minded distillers together to showcase their expertise and innovation in gin making to Novocastrians and visitors to the region.”

Sponsor and event partners Strange Love, will also be showcasing their premium handcrafted tonics and mineral water on the day.

The Byron Bay based company say its products focus on quality, local ingredients, and interesting and eclectic flavours to create the perfect mixer for every style of gin.

An event ticket entitles you to five 15mL Gin Pours with tonic from any of the exhibiting distilleries.

The festival will host two sessions. A day session runs from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm and an evening session kicks off at 4:00 pm and runs through until 8:30 pm.
