The organisers of Newcastle’s BikeFest are calling on Novocastrians to get on their bikes this weekend. The award-winning lifestyle event has been designed to encourage the community to get out on their bikes for a ride, a race or to enjoy the event’s expo and take in the city’s beautiful foreshore and scenic cycleways.

BikeFest will take place at the Honeysuckle precinct and cycle paths along Throsby Creek and Newcastle Foreshore, with rides and events extending across the region, including the Mick Chapman Memorial Criterium, Two City Circuit and Crowne2Crowne. The main event and expo will all take place on Sunday, the 26th of October.

Bikefest offers something for everyone, from elite athletes to families, commuters, recreational cyclists, and new and experienced riders. It encourages people of all ages and interests to make riding a bike part of their everyday lives, helping build a healthier, more liveable city – good for our people, economy and our environment.
