Former NBN presenter, Georgia Maher will hit TV screens this Sunday when Hungry for More: Spain airs on the SBS Food channel.
The food and travel documentary, brought to life in partnership with director Thomas Anlezark, delves deep into Spain’s rich food culture and its profound influence on the Spanish way of life.
The series showcases the beauty of travelling at a slower pace and discovering the hidden gems that often elude tourists.
“We want to challenge our audience that these are often better souvenirs than ones which stick on the fridge or collect dust on the mantelpiece,” Georgia said.
“We’ve taken home lessons on life, community and culture.”
Starting her journey in the vibrant streets of Barcelona, Georgia will embark on a road trip that leads her to the rugged Costa Brava coastline and the picturesque vineyards of Penedes.
Georgia’s upbringing in the Hunter Valley has deeply influenced her passion for showcasing the stories of young individuals who are reimagining tradition and championing their own local cultures.
“In Penedes, I met an incredibly energetic young woman, Maria, who is the 15th generation of her family to inherit the property. Like many of her family members before her, she too is a winemaker, and feels it’s her duty to nurture its history while introducing some amazing innovation into the farm.”
“Hitting the road with my long-time friend and colleague Tom has also been a tremendous adventure,” Georgia said.
