FOWL BALL! It’s about to get a little bit fancy in Mayfield West…with a little help from Hamish and Andy

There’s no denying that when it comes to the saturated chicken market here in Newcastle Mayfield West Kebabs and Charcoal Chicken looms pretty large.

Well, now is your chance to celebrate that fact with the popular eatery going pushing the boat out for a black tiechicken fest next week.

The ‘fowl ball’ came about after comedy duo Hamish and Andy announced on their podcast recently that they were on the hunt to find Australia’s best stand-alone chicken shop with their Whole Lotta Chickens Award.

Well, Hit 106.9 breakfast presenter Jess Farchione, could not let her love for her favorite chicken spot go unnoticed so she promptly forwarded the lauded comedy duo an entry that impressed Hamish and Andy enough to read her entry on air.

Now, as an addendum to the comp, the duo has called upon their scores of listeners to flock to their local chicken shop in black tie garb for a ‘global synchronised chicken event.’

To that end, this coming Monday 21 October Jess has called on all Novo chicken lovers to descend on Mayfield West in their fanciest slacks to celebrate the 30-year contribution the iconic chicken spot has made to our collective tastebuds.

DJ Fuel will also be on hand on the day to spin the tunes while those glorious little chooks spin on the spit.

So get along to Mayfield West Kebabs and Charcoal Chicken (402 Maitland Road) from 7.30pm on Monday 21 October and get your chicken on!
