Fresh from New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Barbican Centre Australia’s favourite electric string quartet sensation, FourPlay are back with their new album, This Machine. They’ll be playing tracks from the release at Lizotte’s in Newcastle on Thursday the 16th of October.
FourPlay began life playing mostly covers. You’ll remember them from videos you’re friends shared on Facebook of them playing songs like Rage Against The Machine’s seminal hit, Killing In The Name Of.
The unique thing about the band’s new album, This Machine is that it’s their first album of 100% original material. It’s layered, heavy and uplifting. The recording showcases the individual talents of the members and their ability to weave in and out of time changes and conflicting melodies.
The four members (brothers Peter and Tim Hollo, Lara Goodridge and Shenzo Gregorio) have lived their lives together, played at some of the world’s most famous venues and festivals, and spent countless hours writing and jamming together and it really shows when they hit the stage.
Tickets are now on sale for the show at Lizotte’s on Thursday the 16th of October.
