Food Not Bombs Muloobinba/Newcastle is urgently calling on the community for donations of raincoats, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, swags, and tarps to support locals sleeping rough.
The grassroots group is rallying support as colder, wetter weather sets in across the region.
Operating from Hamilton and serving meals at Awaba Park twice a week, the volunteer-run initiative provides free food and essential items to anyone in need.
The group says now is the time for Novocastrians to show solidarity, with even small contributions making a big difference to those doing it tough.
Community members are also encouraged to join the weekly Food Not Bombs meal share every Monday and Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm at Awaba Park, to connect with neighbours and offer support where they can.
Donations can be dropped off in Hamilton, or the group may be able to collect directly from donors. Get in touch with Food Not Bombs Muloobinba/Newcastle for further details on how to donate.
