Local performance group, Fondalicious, is searching for fresh 80s superstars to join their troupe.
Established in 2015, Fondalicious is best known for its exhilarating retro aerobics classes featuring all the classic hits from the 80s. But they also have a semi-professional dance group, the Fonda Troupe, available for hire.
Auditions will be held this weekend.
Emma Levine, Fondalicious owner and self-proclaimed ‘Party Leader,’ is on a mission to find Newcastle’s cheesiest dancers.
“Recently some of my usual all-star Fondas have had to hang up their sneakers due to moving away, pregnancy and you know, life,” said Emma.
“We need some more performers to join the troupe and I also need a personal backup, for example, if I can’t take a regular workout class.”
The tryouts will take place at the brand-new Indigenous-owned function centre, Peibri Place, located above the fish co-op in Wickham.
The audition class will last approximately 45 minutes, and while dressing in 80s aerobics outfits is optional, it’s always encouraged for the full nostalgic experience.
“There’s no fee for dancers to tryout and it’s a beautiful location, overlooking the harbour,” Emma said.
“If you’re a dancer, actor or just lover of all things 80s, you should come along, so we can see what you’ve got,” said Emma.
The Fondalicious auditions will take place on Sunday, 4 June at 3 pm in Peibri Place, Wickham. For more information and to register, visit fondalicious.com.au/audition.
