Five things you didn’t know about Bryan Adams

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Bryan Adams will bring his Shine A Light tour to Bimbadgen on Saturday, March 23.

With a career spanning over 5 decades, giving birth to countless hits, there are lots of things to write about Bryan Adams. But we thought we’d share a few things you didn’t know about the Canadian who’s become one of the most enduring and prolific acts of our time.

Signed his first contract for $1

By 1978 Bryan had already been in a number of bands, but at the tender age of 18 he signed a contract with A&M records…. For one dollar! Around this time Bryan wrote the songs “I’m Ready” and “Remember” which you can hear on the Cuts Like a Knife and MTV Unplugged albums.

He’s an award Winning Photographer

That’s right! And he’s shot everyone from Robert Plant to Queen Elizabeth II. He’s got an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society, has won three Lead Awards for his fashion photography and has released several book of his photographs. And one of his photos was even on a postage stamp!

Animal rights activism

As a member of the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Bryan once wrote to the CEO of KFC asking them to become leaders in using more modern and more humane methods of butchering the chickens used in their restaurants.

Pretty Woman The Musical

Yes, you read that correctly! Director Jerry Mitchell collaborated with Bryan and Jim Vallance and together they wrote the music and lyrics for the musical which made its debut in 2018.

He dueted with Justin Bieber

At a fundraising event in Berlin of all places! They did an acoustic duet of one of Bieber’s first hits with Bryan learning the song in the dressing room just before the performance.
