Newcastle’s Finnian Johnson has been named as a 2023 Toyota Star Maker grand finalist.
The longest and most respected country music talent search in Australia, Toyota Star Maker has been the launch pad for acts like Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Blake OโConnor, Gina Jeffreys, Kaylee Bell, Kirsty Lee Akers, Brad Cox and Travis Collins.
This year’s winner, Max Jackson was on hand at Tamworth City’s Toyota Dealership this morning for the finalist announcement and to give the fellow Novocastrian some encouragement heading into the finals.
Max was crowned the 42nd Toyota Star Maker winner at the 50th Toyota Country Music Festival in April this year.
“Life as the 2022 Toyota Star Maker has so far been the wildest ride!โ said Max.
“I feel honoured to join the long list of previous Toyota Star Maker winners, some of whom have been my biggest inspirations.”
Finnian Johnson first began performing at the age of 13. And since then he’s travelled the country to perform at music festivals and play alongside artists like Ian Moss, Troy Cassar-Daley and Bill Chambers.
“This is something Iโve wanted to do since I started singing and I canโt wait to take my next steps on this journey,” Finnian said.
The top ten finalists will now be invited to perform at the Toyota Star Maker Grand Final in Toyota Park on 15 January 2023 as part of the 51st Toyota Country Music Festival. For more information visit starmaker.com.au.
