Newcastle is set to host a groundbreaking event this International Women’s Day with the If I Were A Boy Festival, a femme-fronted music celebration organised by Gumnut Artists.

Showcasing ten incredible acts led by women and femme-presenting artists, the festival aims to spotlight local talent while supporting a crucial cause with $5 from every ticket sold donated to Warlga Ngurra Women and Children’s Refuge.

The festival boasts an eclectic lineup, featuring some of Newcastle’s finest emerging and established artists. Attendees can expect captivating performances from Aunty Alan, Babylon, Daytrip, Eliza Eve, Evangeline, Georgie Winchester, Hey Lady, Ponzie Scheme, Regikay, and ZEAL.H (F.K.A Mia Petra).

Adding to the energy, Finlay Ross & Friends will keep the vibes going with an electrifying DJ set. The day will also be hosted by our very own, Bonnie Anne.

Beyond the stellar music lineup, the festival will offer a unique experience for attendees with local brand Flirt Hamilton handing out a lucky door prize and gift bags for the first 20 women through the door. They will also have a stall on-site, donating 10% of their profits to Warlga Ngurra Women and Children’s Refuge.

With drink specials like $6 Hawkes XPA, festival-goers can enjoy a great day out while supporting a significant cause. The Newy Hotel will be the place to be on March 8th, as Newcastle unites to uplift and amplify the voices of women in music.
