A special live Q&A with Façon Magazine founder and editor-in-chief Lara Lupish will give Newcastle audiences a behind-the-scenes look at one of the city’s most influential creative success stories.
The event forms part of the Façon 10: Rétrospective exhibition, which celebrates a decade of the Newcastle-founded fashion magazine, creative agency and modelling agency.
The conversation will explore the vision, creative decisions and community connections that have shaped the brand over the past 10 years.
Hosted by Carol Duncan OAM, the session will offer visitors a rare opportunity to hear directly from Lupish and gain insight into the evolution of Façon from a local publication into a recognised creative platform.
Audience members will also be invited to ask questions, creating an interactive discussion around the publication’s journey and impact.
The Q&A comes during the final weekend of the retrospective exhibition, which was launched alongside Façon’s anniversary Rétrospective Edition.
Over the past decade, the publication has documented Newcastle’s creative scene while showcasing local talent, fashion, culture and community stories from across the Hunter region.
Visitors attending the exhibition can explore enlarged magazine covers, archival material, editorial photography and some of the publication’s most memorable fashion moments.
The display also features mannequins dressed in designs by renowned Australian labels and designers, including Toni Maticevski, Jean Bas, High Tea With Mrs Woo and Saretta The Label, highlighting the publication’s long-standing connection to the fashion industry.
The live Q&A with Lara Lupish will be held at Newcastle Museum on Saturday, 27 June at 10.30am as part of the Façon 10: Rétrospective exhibition. Find out more by heading to newcastlemuseum.com.au.
