Vino aficionados rejoice! The 7th annual Hunter Vally Wine Festival is kicking off this month!
The 2019 iteration of this popular festival promises a vintage event featuring the best Hunter Valley wines, craft beer, local produce and entertainment.
Wines from over 60 of the Hunter Valley’s best-known and boutique wineries will be available for tasting at the festival, which is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley on Saturday 29 June, between 11am to 5pm.
This year, there will also be a range of new attractions at the festival including ‘Expressions’ sessions featuring organic wine and cheese matching with Tamburlaine, Ascella and Maquariedale organic wines with cheese from Hunter Valley Cheese Factory.
Beer lovers haven’t been forgotten either, with a Beer and Cider session hosted by Sydney Brewery Hunter Valley who will also be on hand to offer behind-the-scenes tours.
Beers and cider will be matched with dark chocolate from Donarch Fine Chocolate and cheese from Hunter Valley Cheese Factory.
Entertainment will be offered by Jarrod Sherman and David D’Souza, and a wide selection of food stalls will operate to provide the best of Hunter Valley cuisine, and with children receiving complimentary entry to the Festival this is a great day out for the whole family.
Also, there will be plenty of fun to keep the kids occupied, including a jumping castle, train rides, carousel, face painting and Rural Fire Service activities including checking out the RFS truck.
The festival proudly supports the Pokolbin Rural Fire Service and a raffle will be held on the day with all funds going to charity.
There is plenty of onsite parking at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley and for visitors from Newcastle, bus service is available leaving the Novotel Newcastle at 9,45am and Rydges Newcastle at 10am, and departing the Festival at 5pm to Newcastle. Tickets are available for $20 return per person.
