Vinyl Appreciation Guild
The Press Book House
462 Hunter Street, Newcastle, NSW, 2300
Every Wednesday night The Press is opening its doors from 4–7.30p.m., to anyone who wants to play their favourite vinyl, or listen to some funky ‘spin doctoring’ from others.
We’re calling this the Vinyl Appreciation Guild (secret handshake ensuing). The $5 entry includes complimentary beer or wine on arrival. Just sit back and enjoy the vinyl itself and the stories behind the vinyl.
Each week Club VAG will focus on different musical genres, eras, recording studios, also topics such as ‘My First…’: The first Vinyl you ever bought, or that was gifted to you. We may even delve into themes such as the vinyl I most hated, but it then won a place in my heart….
For our first evening this Wednesday 18th December, we will be talking about ‘vinyl that means the most to me’
The Vinyl Appreciation Guild: vinyl records, played live by peeps – one side per person. By limiting the time, we can ensure everyone gets a ‘turn’.
Come along on Wednesday nights and share your love of the vinyl experience, bring your favourite vinyl record to play (just one side and a brief background as to why this record is important to you) though you don’t have to talk… just come along and listen.
Leave a comment below or message us the vinyl you’d like to play.
$5 entry includes one complimentary coffee, crafty IPA beer or wine. Coffee and cakes are available for purchase on the night.
