The Emerald Ruby, India and TJTTE and Trigger Jo at the Lass
8:00 pm until 11:30 pm
The Emerald Ruby, India and the Journey to the East, and Trigger Jo are coming together for a super fun night of music!
8pm Trigger Jo
Hazy, Reggae-infused indie rock from the Central Coast, NSW. Trigger Jo play synthy, groovy, funky and proggy tunes for sophisticated buffoons. Kinda like Sticky Fingers but way less probbo 👍
9pm India and the Journey to the East
India and the Journey to the East are an indie rock band based in Newcastle. Fronted by female singer-songwriter India Seddon-Callaghan and joined by Newcastle’s finest musos; Taylan Bragg, Cameron Brownell and Alex McWhirter. This four piece is known for connecting with the audience, through the depth of India’s lyrics and her fast-paced punk influenced riffs. Their performances are emotional rollercoasters, always leaving the audience wanting more. With strong influences of Courtney Barnett, The Cranberries, Pink Floyd and of course The Beatles India and the Journey to the East are sure to take you on a journey through the mind, body and spirit.
10pm The Emerald Ruby
Sometimes classical musicians are lead astray by the lilting sounds of folk music. This is what happened to Australian Flautist Jennifer Hankin, leading her to the sound of The Emerald Ruby. She was first introduced to folk music through her experiences with Folk bands Vanishing Shapes and the Button Collective. Their influence on her songwriting has lead her to long form looping with Ukulele, Flutes and Voice, creating a gentle glittery whimsy.
