Maitland Taste is being ‘Deconstructed’, creatively pulled apart and served up with an extended footprint throughout Central Maitland, and for the first time trading until 10.00pm.
Explore the city to find three pop up eateries, each with their own distinct style and taste including live music throughout. The church grounds of St John’s Parish in Cathedral Street will be transformed into The Meating Place, the perfect place for BBQ lovers with Smokin Hot n Saucy and Foghorn Brewery teaming up to cook it low and slow.
Visit Mezze Beats at Turner Rest Park, a plate full of delectable Mediterranean delights and Euro sounds by DJ Perry Carter. Or seek out Coffin Lane where you’ll find the exclusive Laneway Bar featuring locally made Gin from The Farmers Wife Distillery and tasty treats from Taco Locato.
By day, the program will feature some of the region’s best gourmet food and artisan market stalls, food trucks, cooking demonstrations, live music, kid’s activities and gardening demonstrations by Anambah locals, Purple Pear Farm.
By night, the city will come to life with vibrant, interactive lighting sculptures and lighting projections throughout The Levee on Friday and Saturday. Kids can immerse themselves in the illuminated Butterfly Dome by Newcastle sensory artist and designer Bliss Cavanagh.
