Jonathan Biggins’ “Australia Day”

Maitland Repertory Theatre
244 High St, Maitland, NSW, 2320

AUSTRALIA DAY by Jonathan Biggins
Directed by Col Kirkman and Robert Comber

WELCOME to the typical little Aussie country town of Coriole, where life is laidback and carefree – unless you’re a member of the Australia Day Committee, who couldn’t raffle a chook in a pub.

Charged with putting together the ultimate cultural celebration of what it means to be Australian, the town’s six quirky community leaders are all over the place like a mad woman’s breakfast in matters of national identity.

So grab a lamington and a stubbie, sit back, and find out whether Coriole’s Australia Day will be a little ripper, or will it go off like a bucket of prawns in the sun?

Tickets $20/$25

Language Warning – “Australia Day” contains strong language and mature themes.
