Intro to Vocals Workshop

This is a workshop for students who are wanting to receive an orientation and introduction to vocals. Students of all ages are welcome to attend this event during the school holidays. This hour and a half workshop covers the fundamentals and foundations of vocals, presented in stages that allow students to gain an understanding of the voice and how it is used in music.
Topics covered include:
– Learn how to produce a note
– How to sing in tune
– Basic breath control
– Importance of postureOverview of popular types of music (Musical theatre, jazz & pop)
– 3 basic warmups
National Music Academy has been coaching, mentoring and inspiring young musicians in the Hunter for the last 20 years. We are so proud of the musical culture we’re harbouring and the talent we have fostered.
This introductory workshop is a hands-on workshop and students are encouraged to get involved and should come prepared to sing! Students are more than welcome to attend with and without an instrument. Students will leave this workshop with a blueprint of how they can commence their musical journey with their voice, and be ready to learn in a one-on-one format.
