Intro to Piano Workshop

This is a workshop for students who are wanting to receive an orientation and introduction on piano. Students of all ages are welcome to attend this event during the school holidays. This hour and a half workshop covers the fundamentals and foundations of vocals, presented in stages that allow students to gain an understanding of piano and how it is used in music.
Topics covered include:
– Finding notes on the keyboard
– Basic posture
– Basic hand position
– Introduction to different genre’s of music played on piano (classical, pop, jazz)
– Intro to music notation
– Basic songs e.g. twinkle twinkle little star
National Music Academy has been coaching, mentoring and inspiring young musicians in the Hunter for the last 20 years. We are so proud of the musical culture we’re harbouring and the talent we have fostered.
This introductory workshop is a hands-on workshop and students are encouraged to get involved and should come prepared to get hands-on with piano! Students will leave this workshop with a blueprint of how they can commence their musical journey with piano and be ready to learn in a one-on-one format.
