Intro to Music Theory Workshop

This is a workshop for students who are wanting to receive an orientation and introduction to music theory. Students of all ages are welcome to attend this event during the school holidays. This hour and a half workshop covers the fundamentals and foundations of music theory, presented in stages that allow students to gain an understanding of the theory and how it is used in music.
Topics covered include:
– Basic music notation
– Basic chord construction
– Basic scale construction
– Pentatonic scale
– Common signs & motif’s found on western music
– Basic key signatures
National Music Academy has been coaching, mentoring and inspiring young musicians in the Hunter for the last 20 years. We are so proud of the musical culture we’re harbouring and the talent we have fostered.
This introductory workshop is a hands-on workshop and students are encouraged to get involved and should come prepared to work on manuscript and write! Students are more than welcome to attend with and without an instrument. Students will leave this workshop with a blueprint of how they can commence their musical journey and explore music theory in a one-on-one format.
