Intro to Guitar Workshop

This is a workshop for students who are wanting to receive an orientation and introduction on guitar. Students of all ages are welcome to attend this event during the school holidays. This hour and a half workshop covers the fundamentals and foundations of guitar, presented in stages that allow students to gain an understanding of the instrument and how it is used in music.
Topics covered include:
– The anatomy of the guitar
– Names of the strings
– The types of guitars (Acoustic, electric & classical)
– The genre’s of music played by the guitar
– Introduction to basic right-hand techniques (Finger-picking vs plectrum)
National Music Academy has been coaching, mentoring and inspiring young musicians in the Hunter for the last 20 years. We are so proud of the musical culture we’re harbouring and the talent we have fostered.
This introductory workshop is a hands-on workshop and students are encouraged to get involved and bring their instrument along. Students are more than welcome to attend with and without an instrument. Students will leave this workshop with a blueprint of how they can commence their musical journey with the guitar and be ready to learn in a one-on-one format.
