High Street Dramas

Grossmann & Brough House – National Trust of Australia NSW
71-73 Church Street, Maitland, NSW, 2320

Following on from the highly successful Church Street Dramas of 2018, The Friends of Grossmann House invite the public to take a walk down the eastern side of High Street in March, to experience just some of the graphic stories of Maitland’s past.

Follow the players, as we stand in the places where sensational crimes, stirring speeches and a few tricks were played out, hearing almost first hand, the details of a number of the stories which form the proud history of our place and its community. A Community Grant from Maitland City Council has made this event possible.
In collaboration with the Maitland Repertory Theatre, the Friends of Grossmann House, offer this stirring street theatre piece, on the weekends of March 9th / 10th, 16th / 17th, 23rd/24th with a 5.00pm start outside the theatre at the corner of High and James Streets, concluding at Brough House, 73 Church Street, Maitland for a sumptuous supper at 6.30.

All proceeds go towards the ongoing maintenance of the National Trust properties – Grossmann and Brough Houses, and to the Maitland Repertory Theatre.

Some uneven walking.

Bookings are essential. $35.00 / $30.00 National Trust members
