Back by popular demand, the Gallery is hosting a second free screening of Soda Jerk’s Terror Nullius, a political revenge fable, part satire, part eco-horror and part road movie, which offers an unwriting of Australian national mythologies.

Soda Jerk is a two-person art collective who work exclusively with sampled material and pirated cinema to make experimental documentary films. In Terror Nullius, they bind together a documentary impulse with the bent plotlines of Australian film texts to open a willful narrative space where cinema fictions and historical facts permeate each other in new ways.

Terror Nullius is showing in conjunction with exhibition Just Not Australian, on view at Maitland Regional Art Gallery from 8 May until 1 August 2021.
