Dinosaurs & More – Dinosized Dig Site, Exhibition & More

Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia
1 Wetlands Place, Shortland, NSW, 2307

Something prehistoric has been DUG UP at the Hunter Wetland Centre….

In an Australian first, a to-scale dig site, complete with a full dinosaur skeleton has been recreated on the grounds at the Wetlands. Kids and adults alike will marvel at the size of the dinosaur, and wonder about its story.

In addition, local palaeontology expert Michael Dawson is bringing an exhibition featuring specially chosen dinosaur casts. Taking an easy walk around the Wetlands, families will also find Dino Dioramas with intrigue and information about these historical inhabitants.

Visitors can take a guided tour of the wetlands, meet the resident reptiles during live demonstrations, and enjoy a special dinosaur-themed meal at the wetlands café.

Things to do:
-Dinosaur Dig – What’s that in the sand?
– Look out for Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Acrocanthosaurus as you wander the Wetlands.
– Check out some modern relatives of dinosaurs with our Reptile Rangers.
– Dino Colouring, Dino Craft, Dino Hopscotch
