Deafblind Film Launch & Bush Band

Carrington Bowling Club
10 Cowper St, Carrington, NSW, 2294

You are invited to the launch of an exciting new film to raise awareness about Deafblindness.

This film was made by Hunter Deafblind Peers – a local peer support group run for and by people who are Deafblind.

“It’s about letting people know we exist. Even though we are Deafblind we just communicate in different ways… we go about things differently to achieve the same outcomes,” says Jex Truran-Lakaev, the man behind the group. “I think most people have absolutely no idea that we exist, let alone how we go about things. We want to let people know what they can do to help make the world a bit easier for us to navigate.”

After the film is launched, we will kick in to some bush dancing with the Bushfire Bush Band. It’s going to be a night to remember!

Finger food provided. You can order meals from the diner and buy drinks at the bar.
Free event but you must register. Auslan Interpreted event. All welcome!
