Connections 9th-30th November

738 Hunter St, Newcastle, NSW, 2300

Hunter Women Artists return to Cstudios Art Gallery, 738 Hunter Street West, Newcastle in November 2019 with their next exhibition titled: ‘CONNECTIONS’.
The exhibition opens 4pm Saturday 9th November 2019. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
Nine Hunter Women Artists will exhibit new contemporary works with a lively and colourful interpretation of the theme ‘CONNECTIONS’.
The exhibition title reflects both the supportive connection the group has as they paint and exhibit together, as well as each artist’s own connection to the particular place that inspires their art.
The exhibiting artists will approach the ‘CONNECTIONS’ theme using a range of media. Each artist brings colour and energy to their work, with some showing symbolism, distortion and new spatial and visual boundaries.
Jackie Maundrell-Hall has captured light and shadows of the Newcastle shoreline in her “Canoe Pool”, Leigh Dennis was drawn to the reflections on the shores of Lake Macquarie. Jill Campbell returns to her strong connection with the bushland near her home and Annie Palmer has incorporated her love of trees using collage. Christine Finch used gel prints and abstract patterns incorporating energy and movement in her works. Jenni Gander continues with her free flowing abstract designs while Cheryl Barrett has brightly coloured landscapes and moody oceans. Pam Carroll found a connection to magpies in her own backyard and Sharon O’Hearn’s paintings flow with her distinctive designs of central Australia.
Exhibition closes 30th November 2019 at 4pm
