Celebrating the Hunter Wetlands – Rob Spedding Exhibition
Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia
1 Wetlands Place, Shortland, NSW, 2307
Rob Spedding is celebrating the wetlands in this exhibition showcasing flora and fauna from in, and around, the wetlands. His subject matter is rendered with photo realism through his application of blended colour pencils. The vibrancy of his colours are charged under the gallery lights.
Rob took up art in 2012 after an illness and lengthy hospitalisation left him with limited mobility and unable to work. In an effort to overcome subsequent depression, he joined the Cooranbong Art Lovers Movement and later the Wangi Art Group, and quickly developed a love for drawing.
Rob has completed works in oils, acrylics, and pastels, but it is pencil drawing that is his passion and forte. He is known for the attention to detail shown in his work. Australian flora and fauna, horses and the Australian landscape are they themes, reflecting his keen interest in these subjects.
Visit the exhibition ‘Celebrating the Hunter Wetlands’ in the air-conditioned gallery space daily at the Hunter Wetlands this January.
