Carnevale 2018The Art House
The Tuggerah Lakes Art Society is a not for profit organisation. The aim of the Society is ‘to promote the cultivation of the Arts’ on the Central Coast. To this end Carnevale 2018 – a month long Celebration of Art has been planned where local visual artists and craft practitioners exhibit their wares. The event comprises of 2 sections:
1. The Mask Project – 3 prizes: $600, $250 and $150.
Where participants can choose any medium and process to produce a reflection of themselves. Not necessarily a face with features but go inside themselves, think, feel and imagine.
2. The Creative Art Section – 3 prizes: $600, $250 and $150.
Where artists can submit 4 artworks. Most genres will be accepted eg. Paintings, sculpture, photography, stich art, graphics, printmaking, etc.
The Mask Project is also extended to Primary and Secondary School Students. The idea behind this is to give children an opportunity to nurture their talents. The work entered by the children will be on display at the Art House (open each day from 10am – 5pm)
Carnevale will be launched on the 4th of August with an Artisan’s Market (opening from 10:30 – 3pm)
