“Diamond-like clarity. Rich, embracing tones. Based in Sydney, Australia, Aurora Choralis sings the best of choral music from the Renaissance to the present day.”

Aurora Choralis is a fresh Sydney-based chamber choir. Made up of members from various backgrounds and professions, all our musicians have a shared enthusiasm for choral music. The result is a sound that is rich and mature, yet also crystalline in tone, and can be adapted to a variety of styles. Modern Choral Art Song has been the driving force in the group’s founding year. This, along with Vocal Jazz, Contemporary Song, and Musical Theatre anomalies, works in with Early Music to create Aurora Choralis’ signature sound.

This performance will be influenced by three main themes; Love of God, Love of Country, and Love of Humankind. Each theme will be presented with a wide range of repertoire, from religious, secular, and contemporary sources. From reinvigorated and powerful hymns from the 1700s, to a haunting original Australian work, and finally to familiar melodies from Le Misérables, there are musical experiences that will challenge and engage listeners from all backgrounds.
