This Saturday, 6 May, all Domino’s stores across Newcastle and Central Coast will donate $1 from every pizza sold to raise money for a 12-year-old local, Emma Walsh, who was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

The Doughraiser will mark the first time Domino’s stores across Newcastle and Central Coast have joined together to raise money for an individual.

Emma Walsh is well-known within the local rugby league community, and the funds raised will assist Emma and her family as she embarks on a long journey of treatment.

Emma’s diagnosis with the rare form of leukemia has been a tough journey for her and her family. However, the community is coming together to show their support, with Domino’s stores across Newcastle and Central Coast leading the charge.

“It’s hard for any family to see their kids go through such a hard experience,” Emma’s dad, Brendan Walsh said.

“We are grateful we aren’t alone and are thankful for the generosity of the community we love.

As a family, we are extremely thankful for any and all help we receive from the community at this extremely challenging time for Emma and our family.”

The fundraising event will run for 12 hours from 11 am on May 6th, and $1 from every pizza sold (except minis) will be donated to Emma and her family. The target is to raise over $25,000, and with the help of the community, Domino’s aims to exceed this goal.

“Emma’s story has touched us and our stores are privileged to be involved in raising as much ‘dough’ as we can,” Domino’s NSW Market Manager Ross Kruger said.

“The least we could do as a business is donate $1 from each pizza to ease the burden on Emma’s family but we couldn’t do that without the support of our community.”

Whether it’s a pepperoni pizza or a vegetarian option, every pizza sold on May 6th will make a difference in Emma’s life. Joining hands with the local community, Domino’s is playing a vital role in helping raise funds for Emma and her family.

With the help of the community, the initiative aims to exceed the target of $25,000, and everyone can play their part by buying a pizza or making a donation.

In addition to purchasing pizzas, people can also donate directly to the cause. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Emma and is available here at gofundme.com.
