Despite being in the middle of a lockdown, the confectionary alchemists over at Doughheads are pushing on regardless.
And in an anticipatory nod to summer, the Junction-based eatery has turned its inspo radar to ice cream for its latest trio of doughy specials.
More specifically, the weird and wonderful flavours of US ice cream juggernaut Ben and Jerry‘s have captured the imagination of the doughnut doyennes for their latest crop of specials.
One of the most iconic flavours in the Ben and Jerry’s stable – Half Baked – is a tempting combo of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with fudge brownie and cookie dough chunks.
The Doughheads iteration captures the essence of this icy treat with a choc-custard filled doughy, dipped in vanilla glaze and topped with cookie dough, a choc biscuit crumble and a hefty brownie chunk.
Meanwhile, the Vegan Netflix and Chill’d is a nut-lovers delight with a vegan peanut butter custard filling, salted chocolate icing, crushed peanuts, and pretzels.
And last, but certainly not least one of Ben and Jerry’s most popular flavours Chunky Monkey gets the Doughheads treatment and is a MUST for all banana lovers.
This hefty treat comes filled with vanilla custard and dipped in salted caramel icing before being topped with a chunk of fresh banana, chocolate buttercream, walnuts, dark chocolate chips, and a banana chip.
Yowza!
These treats are available for quick pickup and contactless delivery from Monday 9 August to Sunday 22 August. So, if you just can’t wait for summer to roll around these creamy doughnuts could be the next best thing!
