It’s the food truck that has taken up permanent pride of place on Maitland Road Islington, thanks to its mouthwatering Texas BBQ.
Well, the good folks at Smokin’ Hot ‘N Saucy are making the move to East Maitland, adding a spicy spin into the bargain.
Taking to their Facebook page this week, owners Robert and Randi Thraves shared a video that announced that they would be opening a new eatery at Stockland Greenhills.
“We’ve got some really really good news to share with you today,” the video kicked off. “We are opening a new place in the Greenhills Shopping Centre.”
Texas native Randi added: “We are going to be introducing a little bit more of my style of life – a good old Tex Mex taco joint”
The ‘joint’ in question will be called the Taco Shack and Robert said that it would provide a bit of a different spin on what is being served at the Islington location.
“We’re going to be utlising our brisket ou pulled pork, smoked chicken in a little bit of a different way on fresh tortillas, spice and really good flavours…so get down there and try us out.”
“But what of the Iso location,” we hear you ask. “Can I still get my weekly meat fix?”
You bet your sweet brisket you can, because Smokin’ Hot ‘N Saucy will continue to serve up the same delicious fare to Novocastrian punters for the foreseeable future.
The opening date will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks so, make sure you keep an eye on their Facebook page for all of the deets about the new spot!
