REVIEW: Dead To Me season two hits all the right notes

Keen to read my review of season one of Netflix series Dead To Me? Please to be clicking here…AND if you haven’t seen it, you’re missing one of the best shows on TV.

But I digress.

It’s been almost a year since we met and instantly fell in love with Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini). As they say, the lies that entwine us bind us.

Okay nobody says that but let’s run with it, shall we.

After season one’s cliffhanger ending, we’ve all been dying to find out what happened.

Dying, in fact!

Picking up the next morning, our naughty girls once again struggle to keep their secrets buried. With a surprising new visitor in town and a detective hot on their heels, Jen and Judy take drastic measures to protect their loved ones and each other — no matter the cost.

Should I watch it?

100% YES! This season, the good folks at Netflix gave me access to the first six episodes and I’m not impatiently waiting for the last few to drop this Friday.

Just as in the first season, there are lots of twists and turns that you won’t see coming. I won’t say more because I’m keeping this review spoiler-free.

This season, the relationship between Jen and Judy ebbs and flows as Judy starts to stray a little. We also see a little more from Jen’s boys, particularly her eldest Charlie who is sulky, nosy, entitled little shit of a teen personified.

There’s some old favourites (hello Karen from next door) and some intriguing new people who, again, I can’t tell you about.

The stakes are higher, the friendship is deeper and the traumas that bond loom larger than ever before. If you loved the first season, you’ll absolutely adore this new season.
