Australian music veterans Dave Graney and Clare Moore are bringing their new album Laburnum of the Mind to Newcastle, with a live show locked in at The Stag & Hunter this June.
Fresh from the release of their latest record, the acclaimed duo has hit the road for a national tour that will see them perform songs from Laburnum of the Mind alongside highlights from a career that has spanned decades.
The Newcastle stop forms part of an extensive run of dates taking in venues across the country.
Described by its creators as a rock record, Laburnum of the Mind draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, blending classic rock influences with inventive songwriting, groove-driven rhythms and unexpected twists.
The album features recent singles Hits Are The Worst and I Ain’t Got No Float, while shifting from upbeat, energetic tracks into more adventurous territory as it unfolds.
Recorded in Melbourne, the album was largely a self-contained affair, with Graney and Moore performing the instruments themselves.
Long-time collaborator Stuart Perera also appears on two tracks, adding his distinctive guitar work to the mix. The result is a record that balances sharp musicianship with a playful and unpredictable spirit.
For audiences unfamiliar with the duo’s live performances, the upcoming tour offers a chance to experience one of Australia’s most enduring musical partnerships in an intimate setting.
Known for their blend of wit, storytelling and musicianship, Graney and Moore have built a reputation for creating engaging shows that draw listeners into their unique musical world.
Dave Graney and Clare Moore will perform at The Stag & Hunter in Newcastle on Saturday, 13 June 2026, as part of their Laburnum of the Mind Australian album tour. Find out more by heading to our Gig Guide.
