D-MAX Precision Driving Team rev up the Newcastle Show

The Newcastle Show is around the corner, and one of the main arena favourites, Team D-MAX will be performing their awe inspiring driving display from March 4th – 6th.

Isuzu Team D-MAX is Australia’s longest running & most famous precision driving team, so we’re super excited that they will be appearing (thanks to Newcastle Isuzu UTE) everyday at the 2016 IGA Newcastle Show.

For over 45 years a team of dare-devil drivers has thrilled audiences at major capital city and regional agricultural shows with spectacular main arena precision driving demonstrations.

Inspired by the Canadian Hell Drivers who visited Australia in early 1960s, Queenslander Lloyd Robertson successfully lobbied General Motors Holden to help him establish the Holden Precision Driving Team with HK Monaro’s in 1968.

With backing from GM & tyre giant Bridgestone, the Holden team performed in thousands of shows from 1968 to 1999. In 2000 the team made a short switch to Hyundai before returning again three years later with GM backing as the Holden Stormriders.

When Lloyd Robertson retired at the end of 2006, the team was revived by EMG Precision Driving who with the support of Toyota re-launched the Precision Driving Team as the Toyota HiLux Heroes at the beginning of 2008.

In 2013, the team began a new era with Isuzu UTE Australia to become the Team D-MAX Precision Driving Team.
