Are you missing morning coffee catch ups with friends? Maybe you wish you could have an afternoon tea chat with your Grandma over a couple of scones with jam and cream? Has working from home got you reminiscing about those 3pm slumps spent sharing some gossip and a Scotch Finger around the kettle with your colleagues?
Yep, us too.
But here’s our idea. And it is all in the name of a good cause. Turn that morning Skype meeting into a sweet treat feast (just for you!), get your Bake Off on, dust off your “good” tea pot and take part in the Cancer Council’s national ‘Biggest Morning Tea‘ event.
The Cancer Council acknowledges “it’s not the time to be gathering together in large groups, but there are ways you can keep your social distance, and still make a really big difference to people impacted by cancer” and they are encouraging us all to get creative and get on-line to help raise much needed funds for life-saving research, prevention, support programs and information.
Danielle Foster, Cancer Council NSW’s Community Relations Coordinator for the Hunter Region, was kind enough to send us some more information to make the most of the event.
Here you will find guides to Bake It Forward, Show and Tea and the Virtual Bake Off!
