He’s the Newcastle-bred comedian who has run afoul of the Land Of The Long White Cloud in the past.
And it seems Isaac Butterfield could potentially upset our New Zealand neighbours again with his quest to sell the country online.
The outspoken and controversial comedian took to eBay this week to list his intention to offload Aotearoa to the highest bidder.
I’m selling New Zealand on eBay,” Isaac announced on Facebook.
“Let’s face it, NZ sucks, it’s Awful, just horrid and I thought I should sell it. F**k it off for good and it’s all for Charity. So far after an hour, we have raised nearly 10k.”
However, the auction was pulled from the site after achieving a bid of $30,00.
Undeterred, Isaac took the campaign to GoFundMe where he has, at the time of publishing, achieved $426 of his $30,900 target.
It’s not all about Isaac’s distaste of New Zealand either, with the comedian using the campaign to raise money for two charities – GAP (Greyhounds As Pets) and veteran’s mental health charity Swiss8.
Isaac previously drew the ire of New Zealanders after posting a video in 2018 titled “The Actual Difference Between Australia And New Zealand that was removed from Facebook on the grounds of racism.
“The two charities I picked mean a lot to me. Swiss8 is raising funds to further help veterans who return from war with mental health issues they may encounter and GAP – Greyhounds as Pets finds homes for retired racers,” Isaac told the NZ Herald.
“My dog Rosie who has 15,000 followers on Instagram because she is a big deal came from GAP and she is the most amazing creature I’ve ever met. GAP does wonderful things and I thought it’s time to give back.”
Isaac was also quick to point out, on the GoFundMe campaign that while you won’t actually get new Zealand, you’ll nab a ‘lovely t-shirt’ for your generosity.
