There’s no denying that we love a cocktail 9or two) here in Newcastle and when it comes to ‘cakey confections’ doughnuts are always going to be pretty high at the top of the list.
Well, Newcastle doughnuttery Doughheads has put two and two together and gone and created the pina colada doughnut.
The popular eatery announced the intriguing addition this week as part of its Endless Summer menu which is available until Sunday 1 March.
This little doughboy is dipped in citrus icing and stuffed full of cheesecake and pine-lime gel.
If that wasn’t enough, the whole shebang is topped off with toasted coconut, making this one doughnut you wouldn’t mind getting caught in the rain for.
This tempting treat forms part of Doughheads’ Summer Menu which they say invokes sunny memories of “Mangos, sunshine, salty hair, sand in our toes, coconuts, warm evening air, cold beers and long days;.”
Expect to find the likes of Fairy Bread, Gaytime, Mango Weiss, Lemon Merangue and Nutella varieties to nosh on.
Doughheads is located at 20o Union Street, The Junction.
