It may’ve been a long time between drinks for Katoomba-based muso Claude Hay, with his last album, Roller Coaster dropping back in 2016, but thankfully he is redressing the balance with a brand new single.
And, in what is great news for Newcastle fans, the lauded blues rocker will be heading to the Stag and Hunter next month so celebrate the release of the new single, Give Me Something.
Claude says that the song is all about the “pressures of life in general and working to crazy deadlines,” something that most of us can relate to.
Sonically, Give Me Something is a tubthumping blues soaked track that grabs you from the first chord and underpinned by Claude’s prodigious fretwork and earnest vocal delivery.
Claude, who is also known for his weird and wonderful array of looping pedals and his homemade guitar creations, will be in one man band mode for the Newcastle show and will be pulling out a slew of rockier cuts from his prolific back catalogue as well as some that have never been heard live before.
Catch Claude Hay at the Stag and Hunter Hotel on Saturday 27 April. Tickets are available via https://stagandhunter.oztix.com.au
