Spend an afternoon in Newcastle with Clare Bowditch for International Women’s Day

ARIA Award Winner Clare Bowditch will hit Newcastle for an event to celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday 8 March.

The Rolling Stone Woman of the Year will present an afternoon of conversation and song at Babylon in King Street where she will speak on her experiences as a mum, wife, daughter, sister, musician, keynote speaker and author. Following a keynote, Clare will perform some of her songs and sit down with Newcastle Live’s Melanie Hutchinson for a Q and A session about her life and first book release, Your Own Kind of Girl.

The event is the first organised by HerCastle, a project that aims to celebrate and connect women and the amazing things they’re doing through sharing stories, ideas, expression and experiences in a community atmosphere.

Organisers say they hope the event will give ticket holders an intimate, honest and entertaining afternoon with one of Australia’s most celebrated female artists.

DJ Rachel Maria Cox from Sad Grrls Club will provide the tunes before and after Clare’s performances and of course, Babylon will be serving up their amazing bar and food offerings.
