Ciao bella!

Have you ever been to Italy? There’s something so special about enjoying the relaxed ambiance of great food and wine in the glorious Italian countryside. It’s magic.

But it’s so far away!

Never fear, you can save your dollars and not have to worry about boarding a long haul flight as there’s a Little Bit of Italy in Broke on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 April.

11 venues will take part in this event – bringing a touch of Italy to the Hunter Valley. From wine, to olives and food experiences galore, the stunning scenery and welcoming vibe of the Broke-Fordwich community offers the perfect weekend foodie escape.

Here’s a snippet of just some of the goodies on offer: Catherine Vale will be hosting a gnocchi making class, followed by an artisan salami demonstration, while Greenway Wines are offering a Treasure Hunt both days. Or try cheese and wine tasting at Ascella Wines. Whispering Brook is presenting an Italian inspired millinery collection and workshop – there’s something for every taste.

There are plenty of lunch and dinner options over the two days – all with an Italian flavour. For dinner, Margan, Catherine Vale Wines and Nightingale Wines offer a chance to match your meals with unique varietal wines.

You could make a weekend of it and stay in one of the peaceful accommodation options in the area, or take advantage of the buses that run on Saturday.
