Local theatre company, Chookas Entertainment will kick off their 11-show season of the hit musical Legally Blonde at the Civic Theatre Playhouse this May.
Fans of the company’s productions of Be More Chill, Chicago, and Heathers are sure to get a big hit of nostalgia with plenty of throwback vibes from this show too.
Based on the beloved movie of the same name, Legally Blonde The Musical follows Elle Woods as she challenges stereotypes and scandals in pursuit of her dreams.
The show is action-packed and full of dynamic dances and memorable songs, including Omigodyouguys, What You Want, So Much Better, and Bend and Snap.
Brynn Hulls, a musical theatre artist with credits like Chess, Starstruck, and Jersey Boys, will take on the lead role of Elle Woods, originally played by Reese Witherspoon in the film.
The production is helmed by director Danny Folpp (Beauty and the Beast, Chicago) and features choreography by Jody Miller, who brings fresh energy to this iconic musical.
Also onboard the creative team for the production are Alex Rigby and Maddie Watts as musical directors, Jacob Harwood of JHProductions as sound and lighting designer, and Jody Miller as set designer and costumer.
The opening night is set to be a pink extravaganza with everyone encouraged to dress up – So get ready to dust off your best pink outfit.
