Cheers to Newcastle Airport!

From the historic wines of the Hunter Valley to the trendy café eats of Darby Street – there’s so much great food and wine across the Hunter that it can seem endless.

Thankfully, there’s a new option for visitors and locals alike to try what our region has to offer, all in one convenient location used by 1.28 million people last year – Newcastle Airport. Passengers flying out of Newcastle Airport can now enjoy (and in some cases take) a piece of the Hunter as they depart, with retailers and food outlets stocking local products and 100 per cent Hunter Valley wines.

Hand-selected and sourced locally from Hunter Valley wineries, savour wines from renowned brands Audrey Wilkinson, Margan Wines, Peter Drayton Wines, and Tyrrell’s Wines. Also on tap are a range of beers from Murray’s Brewery Co and coming soon, Iron Bark Brewhouse. We’ll toast to that!

It’s not all just about the alcohol, though. Also on offer at Newcastle Airport are gourmet food selections from a number of local suppliers. Enjoy smashed avo toast using premium Snows Artisan bread, or perhaps one of Snows’ contemporary-influenced Australian treats like cherry ripe or rocky road. Complement your breakfast or treat with barista made coffee.

If you want to share some of the best food and produce of the Hunter (or just keep some for later), there are plane-ready packaged snacks on offer from News Travels. From Hunter Valley Cookies to Pukara Estate oils and Simply Stirred chutneys – there is something for both sweet and savoury fans. You can also pick up souvenirs like Fleurette ointments and balms or a funky postcard or magnet by renowned local artist Trevor Dickinson.
