Chalk the Walk extends until the end of the school holidays

Due to popular demand, you’ll be able to check out this year’s Chalk the Walk trail until the end of the school holidays.

During the New Annual Festival, the Chalk the Walk team has been weaving their creative magic across the Newcastle CBD, transforming the city streets into an interactive 3D street art gallery.

This year’s theme, All Creatures Great and Small, has breathed life into the streets, featuring an array of mesmerising creations. From a vibrant Frog Pond at Kuwumi Place to a larger-than-life spider that’ll make your heart race on Hunter Street, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

School holiday revellers will now have extra time up their leaves to snap a selfie with some beloved Aussie celebrities at the Visitor Information Centre or hop on a skateboard for an adventure with Chalkie the Chihuahua in Civic Park.

This year Chalk the Walk has made a significant addition by gifting the city its first permanent 3D pavement mural.

You can find the permanent artwork outside Harry’s Cafe de Wheels on the Market Street Lawn.

Chalk the Walk’s extended art trail is happening now until 8 October. Visit chalkthewalk.com to find out more.
