CH-CH-CH-CHANGES: Bao Brothers to close doors…but don’t worry it’s not forever

Newcastle West eatery Bao Brothers has long been a staple of the Newcastle Live lunch menu thanks largely to their delightful and constantly surprising ‘Baoger of the Week’,

Well, in what is slightly sad news, the popular Asian street-food inspired eatery will be closing its doors next month.

But never fear, Bao buddies, because the closure is only temporary and it seems the restaurant will be back, bigger and better than ever.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, management shared a photo of Tupac Shakur also featuring the words “we gotta start making some changes” from Tupac’s Changes track.

Things are changing at Bao Brothers,” the post read.

“We will be closing our Hunter Street eatery temporarily on Sunday 8th September. But don’t worry, we’re busy working on something exciting. We know good-byes are hard – so make sure you come and experience Bao Brothers in its current form before then – check out our stories for this week’s specials …
Stay tuned for more updates soon.”

If the food they’re pushing out of their kitchen is anything to go by, then these changes are definitely going to be something to write home about.

Oh, and this week’s Baoger is the Peking Cluck – sounds perfect especially when paired with their ridiculously moreish fries and house-made sodas! Yum.

Bao Brothers is located at 701 Hunter Street.
