Catfish and the Bottlemen have cancelled their Australian tour which was meant to roll into Newcastle this weekend.

The British indie rockers were set to take over Bar on the Hill at Newcastle University this Saturday, 7 September.

A statement, sent to ticket holders around 9:30 this morning, says the tour has been cancelled due to “doctor’s orders”.

“Catfish and the Bottlemen want to thank the fans for their support. This weekend they were hoping to still be able to perform but on doctor’s orders they were forced to cancel their show in Dublin,” a statement sent to ticket holders reads.

“Due to band illness, the Australian dates this month will also no longer be going ahead. The band were really looking forward to these shows and sincerely apologise to everyone for any inconvenience and disappointment. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

Oztix says ticket holders will receive a refund of the net ticket price directly to the card used to purchase tickets. Visit oztix.com.au for more information.
