The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle has taken to Facebook to announce that they will continue operations at reduced capacity. This announcement follows the advice of NSW Health and the federal government to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

“We value the health and safety of all our guests, artists and team members above all else” the statement reads.

“We want to remind everyone when attending any upcoming events to be considerate of your fellow gig goer’s personal space while in the venue and to ensure you wash your hands thoroughly when required. And if you are feeling unwell, please stay home and refrain from attending our venue.” it continues.

With a bunch of artists now facing months of little to no income, it’s great to see one of our most important live music venues continuing whilst reminding anyone attending to be considerate of others at the show and to practice good hygiene.

“We want to remind everyone when attending any upcoming events to be considerate of your fellow gig goer’s personal space while in the venue and to ensure you wash your hands thoroughly when required. And if you are feeling unwell, please stay home and refrain from attending our venue.”

You can read the full statement below and visit the Cambridge Hotel’s website for a rundown of gigs that will still go ahead and a list of cancellations.
