There’s no denying that, when it comes to musical talent, this fine city certainly has no shortage.
And the next crop is about to be unearthed at Hamilton-based venue The Beaumont.
That’s right, the restaurant is holding an open mic night over two heats, culminating in an anticipated grand final event in December.
The winning artists from the heats will each perform at the grand final that will be judged by some of the leading luminaries in the Newcastle music industry.
The winning artist will receive a cash prize and an industry mentorship, over dinner at the Beaumont with Newcastle musician and University of Newcastle School Of Creative Industries associate professor Phillip McIntyre.
If that wasn’t enough of a fantastic foot in the door, the winner will also receive a marketing and agency consultation with leading Newcastle booking agency EAO as well as a paid gig organised by EAO!
The competition will be run across two heats – Saturday 19 October and Saturday 16 November while the grand final will kick off on Saturday 14 December.
So, what are you waiting for? Head over to The Beaumont facebook page and flick them a message including your contact details (phone, email etc) and what kind of music you will be playing.
Make sure you register your interest ASAP to avoid disappointment.
