Newcastle’s favourite soul-tronic duo, Boo Seeka are set to release their new single Millennium Drive and to celebrate, they are coming home to rock The Cambridge.
No strangers to the road, the band have hit out an 11-date national tour in support of the single and the Newcastle show, being the last port of call, promises to be yet another mammoth Boo Seeka local gig.
The band have been riding high on the back of the release of their debut album Never Too Soon, which hit number one on the Australian iTunes charts on the day of release.
The long-player also snagged a coveted Triple J Feature Album tag and also debuted at a respectable number 8 on the ARIA album charts – leading to even more touring around the globe.
Recently clocking up more than 50 million streams, Boo Seeka’s ceaseless touring is also paying dividends abroad with their sounds being heard on the likes of KCRW in North America and XFM in the UK.
If you’ve been to a Boo Seeks Newcastle show, you’d know that they are, more often than not, sold out affairs and to make this one even more enticing, rapper and Thundamentals mic man Tuka will be warming up the crowd.
It looks to be a special one with the band revealing on Facebook: “The Cambridge Hotel has been a place of firsts for us over the last 15 years. Boo had his first kiss in the front bar, Mikey had his first beer after sneaking into the band room and we held hands for the first time here in 1983.”
