Attention music fans, gather round, gather round (said in the voice of Gilderoy Lockhart for those playing at home).

Newcastle singer, songwriter and all-round wonderful human Sophie Aked is preparing to give a performance like no other.

You may know Sophie as one half of the loveable and eclectic bass and voice duo Bravo Victor (we’re big fans here at Newcastle Live) but this September, the Novocastrian will be treating fans to something a little more, shall we say, classical.

Sophie will be performing her favourite songs, (from a very extensive repertoire might I add) during a performance that is sure to impress any music fan.

The eclectic recital will feature music from the 17th century to the present day from the likes of Purcell, Mozart, Dvorak, Strauss and Cole Porter.

Sadly, (for us not for Sophie) this particular performance, set for September 1 at Adamstown Church, will be Sophieโ€™s last on home soil for the foreseeable future as sheโ€™s jetting off to London at the end of September to (most definitely) make it in the big smoke.

This performance is surely one you donโ€™t want to miss, and it will give the music fans of Newcastle a chance to say a proper farewell to a truly beloved artist and performer.

Entry is pay what you can via donation and you can find out all of the details here

Catch Sophie Aked at Adamstown Uniting Church on Sunday 1 September from 2.30pm to 4pm.
